BECOME A FRIEND OF MAGDALA

Our Friends support us by taking an active interest in what we do, attending our concerts and making a vital contribution to our funds

What's Magdala All About?

It's About People
One-to-one coaching is given to people who are passionate about singing, regardless of ability, age, or financial circumstances. For some, the experience may be the springboard to a singing career, for others the simple joy of discovering their voice and for all who take part, the opportunity to grow in confidence and ambition

"It's a terrific place to grow" Geoff Bullen, Director, RADA

It's About Striving for the Best
The Magdala Chorus offers people from all backgrounds the experience of making music together and working hard to achieve the highest possible musical standards. A year-round programme of concerts in small local venues ensures close ties with the community while high profile performances win acclaim from national critics and music lovers alike.

"Top marks for tuning, rhythmic precision….and sheer verve of delivery" Opera magazine

It's About Transforming Lives
Opera Start is a school-based programme that engages young people from the most deprived communities in challenging and creative projects. Chorus members and professional musicians work with teachers and pupils to build self-belief through performance and raise levels of aspiration.

"The whole of Magdala has arisen out of the idea that people, if they put their mind to it, can achieve something they didn't think was possible". Michelle Wegwart, Magdala Director

Why Support Magdala?

Throughout my long involvement with Magdala, I have always been impressed by the team spirit and dedication of everyone I have worked with there. They have their own unique way of giving people from all backgrounds the confidence to find their voices and express their true qualities, which in turn enriches their lives.

Through your subscription, you too can play a vital part in raising the funds needed by Magdala to fulfill their artistic ambitions, not only in bringing music and opera to the wider community but also engaging young people in challenging creative projects that will encourage them to raise their sights and realise their potential.

Magdala deserve your support. Do join me and become a Friend

All the best and thank you

Sir Willard

" …a beacon of artistic achievement which needs - and deserves - the fuel of the public's psychological, spiritual and financial support." Sir Willard White
International Opera Bass Patron of Magdala
