Magdala Concert

Magic Flute Opera Start
Mulberry Bush School, Oxford

Our Opera Start Education project is designed to introduce opera and vocal performance to children in schools. Magdala have undertaken a 7 day workshop programme, culminating in a public performance of an adapted version of "The Magic Flute" by the schools alongside the workshop team from Magdala, professional soloists and musicians.

Funded through Youth Music and other partners, this project involves our biggest collaboration to date including the Mulberry Bush School, a specialist residential therapeutic school, Standlake CE Primary School and Oxford Community College; their Art Room charity, along with Oxford Philomusica Symphony Orchestra.

"Things Are Seldom What They Seem"

Bluecoat Recital Hall, Nottingham Bluecoat School & Technology College, Aspley Lane

A fabulous new show performed by all the Magdala students in the new state of the art Recital Hall at Bluecoat School. Directed by Carlos Wagner, this concert is a chance for students to demonstrate their performance skills as well as their singing talents. The programme includes Mozart, Gilbert & Sullivan and The Can-Can!

Including a dramatisation of Act 1 of Puccini's TOSCA

Saturday 14th June, 7.30pm
St Mary Magdalene Church, Newark

A concert of two halves including exciting popular repertoire plus the first act of Puccini's Tosca performed by professional soloists with the Magdala Chorus, dramatically directed by Geoff Bullen, RADA. Guest performance by Simon Lole, former Salisbury Cathedral Organist. The magnificent setting of St Mary Magdalene Church will make this a particularly spectacular occasion.

Parties of 10 or over will receive a 10% discount on ticket price
